Colleen's Story
After summer high school ended, I went to Hawaii for a week. Tried Cerritos College for awhile. Got influence by a boy that I was not pay my own way through life. So, I quit college for awhile a got a job working as a customer service liason. Moving on to a accounting job at a trucking company in La Mirada. Started college again this time at Cypress College in 1986. Graduated with Associate degree in Word Processing. Transferred to Cal State Long Beach in the mid 90s. Finished school in 1999.
In 1988, I had my 1st child Richard. Started working for Security Pacific in 1991. A few months there and Bank of America bought them out. I survived the merger and continue to work in downtown L.A. Our office relocated to old town Pasadena. I met some great people at Security Pacific and Bank of America. I met my future husband at a prewedding party. The bride was a former coworker at Security Pacific. Mark and I did not start dating right away. I was dating someone else. When I finally got together with Mark, he just pass the California bar. Yes an attorney. We married in 1998. We have 2 children. The oldest is Mariann. She is very active in sports. She into volleyball now, but also plays softball and basketball. Our youngest is Antonio. He is the video gamer. He trys all the sports; however, his favorite sport is football.
In the mid 90's, I worked in customer service at a packaging distribution house. Later, I transferred into their credit department in Buena Park. Currently, I working in Downey in a credit department for a major paper,graphics, packaging and facilities supply house.
Mark and I travel abit. Definitely not as much as I would like. We gone to Mexico several times. Vegas is not far from the list of places. I gone to Lake Tahoe during the summer for a week. I saw the Grand Canyon in 1994. More recently, I went to Minnesota last year. Also, Tennessee for Easter break last year. I went on one of those 4 day cruises to Mexico. I definitely want to go on more cruises.
